Job Description


Supplies parts and accessories over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone to meet all client needs while ensuring appropriate stock and inventory of parts and accessories


  • Work collaboratively with internal and external customers; assist service employees in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Specify and identify parts needed to meet client requirements, so that number of parts returns due to errors is low
  • Achieve department goals by generating high sales of parts and accessories, number of counter tickets and repair orders processed, parts and accessory sales per repair order and parts and accessories per invoice
  • Order parts accurately and promptly by using the company’s parts catalog system and the relevant portions of the company’s computerized management system
  • Provide technicians with necessary parts with minimal wait time; uses parts pre-picking when applicable (e.g., when customer is coming in for recall part or scheduled service interval)
  • Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies in regards to retaining parts and documentation used to complete warranty repairs
  • Maintain accurate sales and inventory records of all line items. Cost-out parts and accessories on counter tickets and repair orders
  • Maintain the physical inventory by keeping stock in the proper locations, in saleable condition, notify parts manager of out-of stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
  • Requisition non-stock or special order parts and follow up on special ordered items, and notify the client or technician when received. Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary


  • Maintain a high degree of courtesy.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in all required dealership and/or manufacturer training, communication and/or meetings.
  • Respond to all client questions, complaints or problems ensuring they are resolved beyond the clients expectation.
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to the job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and notify management of any unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance and/or adhere to uniform requirement if applicable.
  • Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of confidential personal information of our customers in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a related industry preferred
