Job Description


Moves and cleans vehicles, keeps the vehicles in sound working condition, and helps the department managers as requested.



  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles.
  • Keep lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the managers and in accordance with dealership display standards.
  • Run errands to pick up and/or deliver items as requested.
  • Assist department managers and supervisors as requested.
  • Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of confidential personal information of our customers in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships.
  • New- and Used-Vehicle Sales Departments
  • Check vehicles at dock for any damage and/or missing items. Prepare claim to transportation company if necessary.
  • Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice.
  • Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment.
  • Do a drop-off inspection when vehicles come in.
  • Deliver customer vehicles and loaners to various locations.
  • Record the description of damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt.
  • Apply bar coded stickers to vehicle (if applicable).
  • Catalog and store keys.
  • Coordinate pre-delivery inspection of new vehicles with service department.
  • Coordinate detail of vehicles with detailer.
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles from/to warehouse, dealership, and/or customer.
  • Assist financial representatives with flooring checks.
  • Assist with vehicle inventory.
  • Assist with loaner vehicle paperwork

Job Requirements


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record and insurable. Must be able to operate standard shift car as well as automatic. 


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
