Job Description

SUMMARY

The primary function of the Warranty Booker is to verify and flag the technicians on jobs they perform and to invoice properly the customers repair orders. The Booker will work directly with the Warranty Administrator to ensure accurate and fair labor times.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Book technician time based on manufacturer or nationally recognized published time guides.
  • Invoice repair orders.
  • Communicate with service consultants and parts counter persons regarding any incorrectly billed repair orders and assist in correcting them.
  • Perform various jobs as assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Assist in monthly close out as needed and requested by Service Manager.
  • Report to management any situation or condition that could jeopardize the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its employees or customers.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and courtesy.
  • Perform all duties within the required time limits.
  • Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of confidential personal information of our customers in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some knowledge of automotive parts. Will be trained on dealership computer systems. Ability to use computer, 10-key, and other office machines. Ability to work well with customers. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works at a desk in an office setting in the service department. May be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of hazardous and no hazardous materials. Professional personal appearance.
