Job Description


The Finance Manager is responsible for the sales activities of the dealership through the promoting and selling of a full range of financing and insurance programs



  • Process financing and leasing deals accurately and secure approval through financial sources
  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments
  • Examine, evaluate, and process loan applications in accordance with dealership and manufacturer policies; correct title, lien information, taxes, etc.
  • Work with Office Manager on all issues related to paperwork
  • Follow up on Contracts In Transit every morning
  • Maintain primary contact with financing and leasing sources and ensures that the preparations for finance and lease contracts are error-free
  • Provide customers with a thorough explanation of aftermarket product and extended warranties
  • Maintain a minimum Customer Satisfaction score as determined by Management
  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively
  • Explain fully product performance, application and benefits to prospects. Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase
  • Follow up with unsold prospects, utilizing appropriate methods of communication (follow-up calls, email, letters or factory brochures highlighting features of interest)
  • Keep abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technical changes in product



  • Maintain a high degree of courtesy.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in all required dealership and/or manufacturer training, communication and/or meetings.
  • Respond to all client questions, complaints or problems ensuring they are resolved beyond the clients expectation.
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to the job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and notify management of any unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance and/or adhere to uniform requirement if applicable.
  • Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of confidential personal information of our customers in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One or two years related experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of dealership finance and insurance procedures
