POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Consultant is responsible for selling commercial vehicles by maximizing gross profit, volume and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Align with guest to identify their needs and wants and graciously provide a solution that exceeds their expectations
  • Demonstrate products in an innovative way such as using technology to showcase the product and present information with integrity and professionalism
  • Provide services to guests in a manner that exemplifies personal and professional excellence but consistently producing outstanding results through our commitment to continuous and never-ending improvement
  • Optimize selling potential through networking and developing client base and follow-up with clients on sold and unsold vehicles
  • Visit and follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and an opportunity to promote more sales
  • Attend required training and/or meetings to keep up to date of new products, features, accessories, benefits and values 
  • Keep abreast of inventories and recommend the appropriate product for guests
  • Manage time well and follow the guidelines of how to win the clients to purchase products and services
  • Meet our documentation requirements using various software programs
  • Know, understand and comply with federal, state and local laws governing retail auto sales
  • Introduce guests to Service Department personnel to emphasize to guests the quality, benefits and efficiency of dealership’s service operations
  • Collaborate with Management members to achieve goals and objectives
  • Travel to guest' businesses to ensure guest satisfaction and achieve business objectives
  • Perform administrative duties to meet sales objective and compliance requirements

  • Maintain a high degree of courtesy
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance and adhere to dress code requirement
  • Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of confidential personal information of our customers in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The equipment likely to be used in this position are personal computer, iPad, telephone, copier/printer/scanner and drive company vehicles.

Sales Consultant works long hours both indoors and out, moving about the dealership facility (showroom, service department, and offices) and lot to communicate with the general manager, managers, salespeople, and customers. Will spend time in traffic doing test drives and traveling to commercial accounts; weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be required. A Sales Consultant must have sufficient coping skills to deal with stressful situations while performing the duties of this job and communicate effectively with a broad range of customers and employees. 

WORK SCHEDULE

The work schedule is normally 5 days per week including evenings and weekends; employee may be required to work beyond regular work schedule.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Minimum one to two years of experience in selling high-end luxury goods to business accounts.
  • Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of concepts, principles, rules and regulation of the subject matter.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operating a personal computer and its applications such as industry specific computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Language Skills:

  • Demonstrate ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Demonstrate ability to complete application forms in a neat and accurate manner for purchase or leasing of vehicles
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Demonstrate ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Demonstrate ability to help customers make their decision regarding their purchase
